Mental Training, Inc. is proud to announce their continued partnership with the esteemed Northern Texas PGA; a partnership that will undoubtedly have an effect on the entire golf community.

After a great year in 2011, Mental Training, Inc. (MTI) and the Northern Texas Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (NTPGA) have recently renewed their partnership. The continuation of this partnership is a result of the revolutionary perspectives of MTI and the NTPGA regarding the importance of mental skills training both for sport and in life. Through their partnership, MTI and the NTPGA will strive to reach players at both professional and junior levels, and to recognize the physical dedication to technique, as well as the mental preparation required to compete in the game of golf. “We are looking forward to a great sponsorship year in 2012 and to getting out on the course with the juniors and professionals.”

The NTPGA is one of the 41 sections that comprise the PGA of America. Included in their section is more than 2,800 junior boy and girl players (ages 7 to 18), 725 professional members and apprentices, and over 200 golf facilities across North Texas. Particularly at the junior level, the NTPGA places a strong emphasis on the growth of the game and focuses heavily on fellowship, good sportsmanship, and continued skill development.

When asked about the partnership renewal between MTI and the NTPGA, Founder and CEO of MTI, Dr. Robert Neff, states that, “I greatly respect the philosophy and quality of work of the North Texas PGA, and it is an honor for MTI to expand our work with them. We are looking forward to a great sponsorship year in 2012 and to getting out on the course with the juniors and professionals.”

As a Title Sponsor of several NTPGA All American Junior Tour events, MTI will be hitting the course first on May 12 and 13 at the Mental Training, Inc. Summer Preview at Brookhaven Country Club. MTI will present the Mental Toughness Award to the most mentally tough boy and girl golfers (those that perform consistently well on the most critical holes – 1,2, 17, & 18) participating in the All American Junior Tour at the conclusion of the summer series.

On the professional side, Mental Training, Inc. will be a Presenting Sponsor for the Callaway Golf Western Championship on June 11 and 12 at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth, TX. This is one of few major events hosted by the NTPGA where professional members can qualify for the PGA Tour. There are roughly 110 members and apprentices expected to compete in this event. Through involvements in events with both juniors and professionals, MTI and the NTPGA are working together to ensure a clear growth in the game of golf, while simultaneously attending to the tremendous influence the mind has on competition. Golf legend Bobby Jones states that, “competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course…the space between your ears.”
