An impressive 200 athletic coaches have recently been recognized and certified through Mental Training, Inc.’s (MTI) innovative online Certified Mental Coach (CMC) course.
The CMC course is a certification course designed by one of the most recognized sport psychology researchers in the world, Dr. Robert Weinberg. The course consolidates over 20 years of research and testing in the sport psychology industry into 11 concentrated, easy to understand lessons for coaches. Example topics in the course include concentration, communication, and motivation. CMC addresses the key mental skills needed for competition and consistently high performance. The course provides a unique opportunity for every coach to build upon their existing coaching knowledge and understand how to effectively implement mental skills into their coaching. Currently, 200 athletic coaches (involved in sports ranging from football to Mixed Martial Arts) have taken advantage of the opportunity to become certified through CMC and are actively incorporating the mental skills they’ve learned into their professional and personal lives.
“We are excited to see that in such a short time, we’ve certified 200 coaches. MTI is striving to change the mental training paradigm in the sport world. We believe that our CMC course will help us achieve this paradigm shift through educating and certifying coaches in mental training. Our CMC course is constantly undergoing updates and improvements, and it stands to revolutionize the way coaches and parents interact to produce elite level athletes,” says Founder, Dr. Robert Neff.
With new coaches enrolling each week, the CMC course continues to change the face of coaching. The paradigms of old are slowly being revamped as more and more coaches realize that mental toughness is something that is learned, rather than something you’re born with, and is often the game winning factor in close competition. Coaches have always been aware of the impact they have on the performances of their athletes, and now, as a result of the CMC course, they have the ability to ensure they are giving their athletes the best opportunity to succeed by providing a well-rounded training environment that includes mental skills training. As one Certified Mental Coach states, “for coaches who take pride in providing their students with the best and most current information, the CMC course is a great starting point.”
