Going into Bellator 61, Jason “Wild Thing” Sampson has been using his mind to help control his emotions.

Mental Training Inc. (MTI), is a Dallas-Fort Worth based company that provides customized, affordable mental training to athletes around the world.

Fighting out of “Mohler Mixed Martial Arts” in Coppell, TX., Jason “Wild Thing” Sampson is known for his aggressive fighting style and a sick submission game. Highly regarded as one of the top Bantamweights (127 – 136 lbs.) in Texas, the (8-1) pro fighter is coming off the first loss of his career and looks to rebuild his winning streak at Bellator 61 on March 16th in the Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana. After a controversial loss by split decision in his last outing, Sampson looks to reestablish his presence in the Bantamweight division. “I’ve been training hard and working with my mental coach, Brad Jurica, from Mental Training Inc. I am having a great camp and been working a lot on my mental game; I feel confident and in control for this fight.”

MTI’s Certified Mental Trainer™, Brad Jurica, has specialized in working with combat sport athletes for over a decade and has been alongside Sampson for his last four fights. We recently caught up with Brad and asked him about his long-time friend and client: “I met Jason back in 2005 and have helped him prepare for NAGA competitions, BJJ World Championships, and most recently, his past few MMA fights. Since his last defeat, Jason has developed a new focus for mental training and better understands the critical role the mind plays in the sport of mixed martial arts. Moreover, his tenacity for improving his mental game has provided him a new found confidence that will serve him well on the 16th of March. Dedicated to continually improve every aspect of his game, Sampson is mentally and physically sharp for the first time in a while.” Mental Training Inc. has several professional MMA clients and continues to grow with the sport into the 21st Century.
